My Project

For my sitework, I will be creating an interactive personal essay via internet art and experimentation. I want to incorporate all of my visual work including designs, videos, animations, and photography but also include my music and audio work. It will have some of my writing as well.

My plan is for all of these elements to be interconnected in telling a story of the concepts behind everything that I create. It will not just be a portfolio of my work, but a journey through a virtual art museum that tells an interesting and intriguing story.

Minnesota

Minnesota…A state I have never been to until recently. The trip there was random and unexpected for the purpose of meeting my girlfriend’s family and driving back in her car. I was completely willing and excited to go, but the vision I had of the state was not the best.

I expected it to be incredibly boring, flat, ugly, and dull.

What I found when I got there changed my mind forever.

The trees, the green, the lakes, the twin cities, the friendly people, the fresh air, all of it affected my mind and changed my preconceived ignorant opinions about the place.

Riding bikes around the lakes on a bike path in uptown Minneapolis is an adventure I will never forget. It was the highlight of my time in this new state. The path winded around several lakes and canals in a heavily tree covered area throughout this section of the city.

Though we were in a bigger city, the scent of the air caught my attention. It smelt so fresh, like newly cut grass on a summer day.

The green and the trees blew me away, I did not expect there to be so many that were so beautiful.

The people were different than those I was used to, everyone smiled and said a friendly comment as we crossed paths and besides that everyone seemed to be so happy and full of life.

My lovely lady was so happy to be home, I could see it in her and it made me ever happier.

My trip to Minnesota was a great one that will never be forgotten, and I hope to travel there again very soon.

The wristbands I wear mean a lot to me and bring out many good and bad memories I have had with them over the time I have worn them.

When I feel them gently resting on my skin, I can tell them apart with the textures they hold. Each one has its own story and is the gateway to many memories and feelings.

They represent a relationship between me and the things in my life including my passion for music, the strong bond I have with my girlfriend, my love for nightlife and dancing, and a reminder for me to remain passionate about the things I love in my life.

This is a video poem I created in my “computers and the arts” class for the Adobe Premiere project titled “video poem”. It contains a song I composed and produced called “Reflection” and the video poem includes many concepts, ideas, feelings, and patterns that went through my head while I created this song.

It was made with many clips of music videos, movies, stock footage, and other video footage. I assembled them together in a way that flowed with the vibe of the song and followed the concepts of which the song was made.
